He couldn’t run for the presidency and Bolsonaro got it. Later, the Supreme Court found that the case was based on lies and there were coordination between the prosecutor and the judge and they reinstated Lula’s freedom and political rights.
But now, the tables have turned, and after Bolsonaro’s actions in the failed coup on 2022, the Supreme Court took away Bolsonaro’s political rights and he can’t be a candidates for any office until 2030.
