Amazing. Sportsball fans in tears.
Proof I’m not a lib:
Truly incredibly weird space usage in the former field there. Plant some trees or something idk
IDK I imagine having a baseball diamond readily accessible to residents would lend itself toward building a stronger sense of community.
I meant the way too much grass in the outfield. I doubt people are gonna be grand slamming it far enough out that that would be a problem even if they are playing baseball a lot, and it would definitely be better to have something like a little woods to stop balls from flying out into the road all the time.
Little Timmy is gonna slam head-first into a tree while trying to catch a fly ball
Shows him for living in the baseball prison.
Little Timmy, age 41, is a serial neighbour annoyer who keeps blasting line drives through my window at 3 am and telling me to “come out and play ball, Greg” I don’t even know a Greg.
NGL, I’d really like to be Little Timmy’s neighbor, even if he breaks my windows and gets my name wrong.
I just love baseball so much.
This has literally happened to me
We have to put a little warning track around every one of them.
lots of bushes
Tearing rotator cuffs together in solidarity
Tommy John will lead the world to communism
That’s what Spaceman Lee believes.
I guess you can still play baseball with your neighbors this way?
they wont, they hate trees. i think it has to do with the genocidal colonial mindset, really. they still imagine themselves as brave pioneers clearing the ancient forest to make way for civilization.
It’s also something they do in Europe. Every public outdoor space has to be a brightly lit panopticon with no trees or shrubberies obstructing the view of anything as otherwise people could do crime, making law-abiding citizens feel unsafe.
Also, a large flat featureless lawn is considered much cheaper and easier to maintain than an actual garden or park where you would have to cut hedges, prune trees and you would have to drive your giant lawn mower tractor around stuff.
parks and yards here in hungary are better on average, but yeah, the new ones are usually almost treeless.
Yeah they could plant a fucking orchard there. They even have lights pre-installed if the plants need a little boost in the off-months.

Not entirely a new idea!
When Huey P. Long was the governor of Louisiana, he was a big football fan and wanted the state to build a new stadium for LSU, but they wouldn’t give him the money. He found out that there had been money set aside for new dorms, though, so he built a bunch of new dorms in the shape of a football stadium. LSU students lived in Tiger Stadium until the early 80s.
Another example I can think of is that, for a time when the As were still attempting to get the city of Oakland to help subsidize their new ballpark, they were proposing that their new stadium at Howard Terminal (a port) would have housing built into the stadium. Obviously they are moving to Las Vegas, though, so that’s dead.
And then of course you have all the other old ballparks that got torn down and replaced with housing. There’s a huge public housing complex on the site of where Ebbets Field (former home of the Brooklyn Dodgers) used to be. Same with the Polo Grounds, former home of the Yankees.
Polo Grounds, former home of the Yankees.
former home of the Giants tyvm
Also true.
Hope they kept all the food and drink vendors intact, so I can get wasted on BudLight and chow down on corn dogs without even having to leave my apartment complex!
Not quite the Arcology simcity led me to expect, but I’ll take it.
will they still be 15 bucks though? for just one of those items btw not both

2BR 1BA $1,387
The lawn is even worse in that photo, but at least it’s next to a park and river with some kind of bikeway.
50 dollar application fee
dogs not allowed
I liked this at first, but it seems it’s owned by fascists.
Where I live that would be a steal. Bachelor suites here are like $1,800 (CAD) on average.
I pay $1050 for a 1br and 2brs go for $1600+, but I live next to the Rockies and not a swamp filled with corn. The only upside to living in Indianapolis would be that you’re only three hours from Chicago.
Do they allow Synths?
Why the fuck does the carpark need to be bigger than the building.
Cheaper to keep the existing parking lot intact, imo. Damn shame. So much wasted space that could be used for more housing. And the field itself is perfect for being converted into more of a park, though being on private property would make it less cool
It shouldn’t be cheaper than using the space for literally anything fucking useful. Using the massively wasted space to build a whole other apartment complex should vastly outweigh the costs of more efficient parking.
I genuinely think part of the problem is a lack of imagination from developers. Debt to offset the construction costs is a no-brainer if the value of the new housing properties will be above the cost.
The issue is that’s complicated and it’s easier on their time and brainpower to do something else nice and simple instead of something complicated. It’s money being left on the table because they can just do something easier instead.
Holy shit just build a fucking garage at least.
getting out my collapse of rome bingo card and checking another box
First as tragedy, then as farce…
Dude, I want to live in Diamond City
EDIT: Preferably without a McDonough to have to bury
I am shocked to see an example of better land use in Indianapolis of all places. It’s a car hell to the max
Fallout 4 reference? 😳😳😳
