I found a lot of good things on Lemmy… But, I can never go ‘full-Lemmy’, because I hate the politics crap.
Politics is life my dude get used to it
Block them. Use filters: https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/post/36045259 Makes it more bearable
Thank you! This is what I need. I prefer to block based on words rather than blocking the whole instance thing. :)
Tired of Reddit? Come to Lemmy! We got:
😂 Memes
🫘 Beans
👖 Jeans
🤡 Tankies
🚫 No poopingAlso star trek! So. Much. Star Trek
You should use Linux and look at my programmer socks 👍
You seem to be implying that there’s such a thing as too much trek, which is preposterous
Too much? I won’t hear of it.
Truth is I have a themed alt account solely for posting trek memes, I’m here for it
We don’t have beans, jeans, nor any posts about New Orleans. And we have to do something about those who defend the Stalingrad, because that’s not something worth to brag.
More mobile apps that you’ll ever need
Should I stop working on my Lemmy app 😅
It’s up to you! https://www.lemmyapps.com/
But now I feel like desktop/website UI would be more interesting, as there are few opions on that space.
…what if I told you my app was a website, desktop app, and mobile app all in one. Still have a lot of work to do, and expect it to be best optimized for mobile, but I’m pretty confident I can launch with a better desktop experience then Voyager.
Sounds promising!
It’s like 25% finished 🙈 https://blorpblorp.xyz/
Nice!
I’m rooting for you!
No. I’ll try it. I betcha others will too
Care to list all the apps updated at least once in the last 2 months and without ads? Just asking for a friend.
Great link! You should post it 👌💫
I just checked !newtolemmy@lemmy.ca, it’s still in the first 10 posts, hopefully people will see it there 😄
Well, some pooping.
Can someone make a version of this saying lemmy has no adds. I think that honestly is the best selling point for reddit users at this point.
Thanks for making this, and especially using an excellent design in a shareable meme format that pitches Lemmy simply to users.
One day we may need to have ads to pay the bills if we have another massive Reddit exodus. What are your thoughts on creating an alternate one that says something like “your data not tracked or sold”?

Thx.

I’m hostile to ads, fully and openly and I’d rather pay than be forced to look at ads. But that’s just my personal opinion and I would not want to impose it on anyone. At least, I think that’s also what freedom should mean: the freedom for anyone to disagree with me and me with anyone ;)
The first version of the file had no mention of ads (I simply deleted it by mistake ;) and you can get the SVG here.
Never understood this point. There’s no way you can move your account (including full history) to another instance, right?
The main point is being able to still access all of the communities if your admin goes rogue (similar to what Reddit is doing). That’s possible on Lemmy, you export / import your settings and you’re set.
Keep the same username, add a link to your new and old profiles and the bio, and you just moved instances. You may have lost your comments history, but there is no karma anyway, so why care? And it’s still accessible on your old account.
It’s true, not sure what you mean?
But what about the extremism?
“Extremism” is a meaningless term used by supporters of the status quo to draw a false equivalence between fascists and their most vocal opponents.
Reddit is quite extreme nowadays too, and over there you don’t have public modlogs
Thank you @lvxferre@mander.xyz and @Libb@jlai.lu
We maybe should downplay the ‘no ads’ thing. I can definitely see a day when ads are required to support some sites.
I like that we’ll have a choice on that day, but I do see that day.
Here’s a version without the ad
Ironically, it got added because someone in the comments wanted it
And here is a link to Git repo with the two PNG and the SVG, aka the editable file for anyone to play with and change it as they like.
Could be worth posting the two versions/links in the OP?
