No it doesn’t. You guys are lying through your teeth. I designed systems for this. The software is completely forbidden. It sounds like you don’t understand the industry enough to have any opinion on the topic.

I was a Sr Architect at a company that does this. No they do not use a level of machine translation first. In fact most of our contracts would have been violated if we did that at all. We implemented techniques to stop people from being able to.

If you don’t understand how translating movie is different than translating in court or a medical setting you’re top uneducated on the topic to have a valid opinion.

You’re missing the point. You’re so woefully uneducated on the topic you don’t understand how Google translate was around for ages and didn’t replace interpretation, translation or localization. Why do you think that is? Maybe you should do some research there.

It can replace middle managers, but software and a spreadsheet could have done that 15 years ago. Middle management is there so the ruling class can redirect your anger to them. They’re scape goats.

Gen X and Millennials share quite a lot of culture in common. We grew up with not only a lot of the same pastimes, but the same media franchises as well. We played a lot of the same games. We both remember a time before everything was digital. Most of us were all latchkey kids and shared the same types of rebellion. We don’t really share that to the same degree with other generations.

I really like Zoomers culture, but I wish I could connect with it more. I get their values and everything you can study. I play DnD with a few of them. It just seems like a different culture. While that’s fine it does mean I have to find a way to relate. “Ah yes, I see your characteristic lack of self awareness and raise you my arrested development and my compatriots funkyo pop obsession. Well met.”

The first step to not doing that is to stop doing that.

I know this is ironic on social media, but unplugging really helps me relax. Just no social media for a month. When I get antsy about it I do mindfulness exercises.

This one is just a personal recommendation though: I don’t like to drink when I’m down. It’s like keeping your head underwater while you’re drowning. I know it can be a release, but I was able to find other releases and I think avoiding alcohol when I’m down has gone a long way to making me happier.
