Oh no, Samoa? Biden is fucked, wow, I wonder what will happen now…
Samoa is pretty unimportant but polling is showing how fucked Biden (and all of us) are.
There are reasons to be fairly suspicious of the factual backing of some of the polls
There are also reasons to take polls seriously. Biden isn’t a slam dunk and trying to shame or silence legitimate concerns hurts his chances of winning.
The media’s reaction to Jon Stewart calling Biden old seriously hurt their credibility.
In what way is pointing to some factually suspicious elements to these polls that are being cited, trying to “shame or silence legitimate concerns”?
I literally posted an article yesterday that said, among some other things, “It lets weak Secretary of State Antony Blinken and duplicitous President Joe Biden be less servile when Netanyahu dismisses the low death toll.” I’m hunky dory with legitimate concerns. Illegitimate concerns I feel the need to address in the sense of pointing out hey this seems illegitimate.
Surely that’s not confusing or inappropriate?
The polls are usually right when they show Biden ahead of
Something like 91 total votes were cast, 51 went to that Palmer guy so he gets the delegates. Unclear why he’d bother but I’m sure he has some kind of angle.
Unclear why he’d bother
That’s the best bar story ever!
Hey, did I ever tell you about the time I won the American Samoa Democratic primary?
Oh no, this is terrible, what if he ends up losing all zero of their electoral votes too?!
I hear they have an excellent law school
…
Anyways…
This is the best summary I could come up with:
President Biden was projected to lose the Democratic caucuses in American Samoa to an obscure candidate in a surprising result that comes amid a string of Super Tuesday wins.
The race was called Tuesday night by Decision Desk HQ (DDHQ), who confirmed the results with the Democratic Party of American Samoa.
Palmer has reportedly qualified for the presidential ballot in just 16 states and territories, according to a release from the campaign through PR Newswire.
Since American Samoa is a U.S. territory, it doesn’t have electoral votes in the general election — but it can still send 11 delegates to the Democratic National Convention later this year.
Democrat Michael Bloomberg came out on top in the party’s 2020 Super Tuesday contest in American Samoa, while then-candidate Biden got single-digit support.
The contests are set to give boosts to both Biden and former President Trump, the GOP front-runner, as they fight to lock in their respective party nods.
The original article contains 227 words, the summary contains 155 words. Saved 32%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!
I like how it’s phrased not as “this is the candidate that won, I’m so concerned about Biden’s poor performance that obviously as a genuine Democrat, I’m hyping up this other guy who isn’t old who I think would be better.”
Or “Hey everybody you should support the Green Party instead, because I don’t like the DNC I’m trying to promote them, as a genuine leftist”
Nope
