I honestly don’t know exactly what to make of this. I’ve enjoyed the show so far, despite Goyer being quite hit-or-miss the past decade. Bost stepping in is somewhat alarming, as his IMDb is quite thin, and seems he climbed the exec ladder very efficiently. I’m curious how he’ll execute.
We may be in for a hell of a shit show with this third (and I assume final) season.
Lee Pace and Jared Harris deliver compelling performances. It is visually stunning (wouldn’t watch it on a phone or iPad). The themes are interesting (to me anyway). It is of course, sprawling - the show’s timeline covers centuries, which can make it harder to follow for casual viewers, so at least some of the negativity is anticipated. But I quite like it.

Is the show worth it? I heard quite negative things initially and didn’t want to bother.

The first season in ok, but the second one is extremely good.
