yes, I had this once and I replied to the parent comment with a call to the user I was trying to reach : like, hi @T0rrent01@lemmy.world
I’ve had that problem on occasion, with no apparent pattern to which posts it affects. But next time it happens, try explicitly choosing a language for your comment. Seems to fix it most of the time although again I have no idea why.
Had the problem when trying to reply in a threat, idk maybe the commenter blocked me.

Also when you block someone you can’t see it’s posts or comments.
if they block you you still can comment to them (we can test this to be sure)
