If you almost get into an accident, you have encountered a bad driver.

If you get into an accident almost every time, you are the bad driver.

Oh I do know about that, I’ve had a near death experience myself, your body/brain has an uncanny sense that says “you are dangling over the precipice right now.”

I just mean that until it actually happens, there is no true confirmation, and after, you can’t report back, that’s why it’s called a mystery.

In fact from the way that person is talking it sounds like they may have had such an experience, and maybe now they’re doubting that it’s real.

Not by itself no, but it was a vector to be indoctrinated into a strong belief in a christian afterlife at a very young age.

I no longer hold any of those beliefs. I now think that existence ex-nihilo and creation by something outside of the natural universe are two equally absurd possibilities, and science is fundamentally incapable of resolving that question.

I have certainly had odd, even otherworldly experiences, but I couldn’t say what any of them meant or if they mean anything at all. I am deeply suspicious of anyone that claims to have the answers.

I hear people who have an NDE are like, CONVINCED there’s an afterlife htat’s why I asked…

I’ve been having a crisis of faith lately I guess. Which is weird because I’m not religious, I’ve been in the agnostic camp of “There’s probably supernatural stuff, we’re just dumb humans and can’t see it.”

But now I’m worried that the materialist atheist douchebags who go around saying “Skydaddy” unironically, the smug r/atheist types who get off to debating creationists ya know… are actually correct, there’s no magic, no hope, and that we all die alone… Though how anyone could be smug in the face of such a morbid concept

What exactly is “Existence Ex-Nihilo”, I found “Creation Ex-Nihilo” but that seems to be the same thing as “creation by something outside of hte natural universe”, so I definitely misunderstand

Immortal means you can’t die, or alternatively you can’t die of natural causes. It doesn’t mean you avoid accidents.

But then there’s quantum immortality which kinda is like that. Your consciousness picks a universe where you don’t die for you to experience. Maybe it even picks an ideal reality, though in a “reality I need” kind of way, not necessarily a “reality I want”.

Bought a crazy eScooter last year, literally backflipping me on zero start if I don’t set the take off power to below 10%. Have at least one brush with severe injury every time I go for a joyride. Nearly died a couple of times, had a accident that put me on crutches for two weeks last autumn.

    So, what’s your hobby?
