    The list of “American Presidents that weren’t deeply problematic as individuals” is a very short one, and I think the only one I’ve heard a good argument for is ole Jimmy Carter.

    But Trump is still magnitudes more problematic than any of the other individuals listed, and it’s whataboutism like yours that led us here.

      Woo! Keep white-washing the Bush admin baby! After all, they only laid the foundational policy for every administration to follow.

      I would say it was liberal willingness to normalize and even lionise bloodthirsty war criminals like Bush that led us here

      Whataboutism? What the heck? I’m saying we shouldn’t glorify war criminals in response to a comment glorifying war criminals. Glorifying the people who paved the way for fascism is a very bad way to fight fascism.
