Turning your country into a capitalist autarky is IMO the definition of fascism. Autarkies aren’t possible even under communism because no country has all the resources to satisfy every want and need. But with fascists, they will either steal from other countries, expand their borders, or both. We saw this with Italy, Germany, and Japan in particular whose leaders promised their citizens total autonomy under an ethno-state.
I haven’t read Lenin, so maybe he’s already talked about this in several of his writings. I think “capitalist nation tries to become entirely self-sufficient,” though, is what every fascist government has in common that clearly defines fascism. The United States will choose barbarism and the bullet over communism and the ballot to try correcting its contradictions.
