Truly a country of failed redditors:
Saudi Arabia is in talks with Hans Zimmer to have the music maestro recreate the Kingdom’s national anthem using different instruments.
Turki Al al-Sheikh, chairman of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), posted a photo on X with Zimmer and called him “one of the greatest musicians of our time.”

Al-Sheikh said the two discussed several musical projects that could come to fruition soon, including a concert and original composition called Arabia - inspired by Saudi Arabia’s culture and heritage - and the soundtrack for upcoming Saudi film, The Battle of Yarmouk.
Additionally, al-Sheikh hinted at plans for a large-scale Hans Zimmer concert to take place at a future edition of Riyadh Season.
The GEA chief said he sensed Zimmer’s “great admiration” for Saudi Arabia and its people, adding that the Oscar-winning composer promised to visit the Kingdom soon with his family and friends.
nme-linky, cause al arabiya behaves weirdly
i hope he redoes gladiator/pirate theme a third time
this is such a stupid timeline
If they took that guy from andor with synthwave stuff though just sad we don’t have modern instruments in anthems, and saudis are gaudy enough to be first
Excited for the first guitar riff
wait, is there a single anthem which uses electric guitars even? smh
Thomas Sankara was a guitarist and also wrote the national anthem for Burkina Faso, that might be as close as we’ve gotten so far
