Someone have experience with this?
No issues with connecting with my current Xbox controller but I had bought the newer ones that connect via bluetooth.
You have to update the controller’s firmware before it will work on Linux. Find a computer running Windows (10 or 11) and get the Xbox controller app. Plug connect your controller via USB and use the app to update the firmware. Once that is done, you’re good to go.
I think I already did that, any way to confirm it was done OK?
(Had to use my neighbor windows pc)
The only way to to check is to try to update it again. If it says it’s already up-to-date, then that’s that. If it still doesn’t work, I don’t know what to tell you. When I switched to Bazzite, my controller was already up-to-date so it just worked. Did you change any Bazzite files/settings or anything? Does it “connect” but continues to flash?
Is said that is up to date, but it still dosen’t connect. The Bluetooth applet pair the controller, but it fail when trying to connect.
I made a new fresh install and still dosen’t work.
Ah, so I had this happen the first time I installed Bazzite where it had a little trouble pairing. I just kept pairing/forgetting it till it worked. I wish I could help more, but without being able to put my hands on it and see exactly what’s happening, that’s pretty much it. One last thing— make sure you complete the First Time Setup (Bazzite Portal) and run the System Update (the Bazzite one) before you do ANYTHING else. Reboot your machine after any update/installation, too!
Did that but is still not working, going to keep paring/forgetting to try it.
The controller is brand new, and I could gave it back and buy a PS4 one, but I know is going to end in the trash can and it’s me feel bad :-/
PS4 controller uses Bluetooth, Xbox is proprietary.
