I think the USA is taking a turn to the right more than americans care to admit. It’s hard to believe some of these news.
Also, peace on Europe depends on those 1945 treaties. Things can’t go wrong. Something needs to be thought up, and the destruction of universities don’t help. Duke University and others work hard but guess what? A lot of them are on the United States.
This symbol of freedom won’t go out without a bang. Who will support the world in these trying times? Which philosophers will bring the glue that holds us together? We need that.
Honestly, I think that America we knew needs to be broken, on progressive terms. The conservatives are aiming to shatter America, such as Curtiss Yarvin and Peter Thiel. As such, the best option is to oblige them by cutting them out of our society. That means taking control of real things, such as factories, farms, hospitals, mines, weather stations, water, and so forth.
They worship money. Let them have it, in its meaningless glory when there is no people nor property for it to command.
This is accelerationist bullshit. You’re conveniently leaving out all of the innocent people that will die and face oppression while you allow fascists to destroy our country. Because you think that (somehow, against all evidence to the contrary) that the American people will replace it all with a progressive utopia.
America is already not in good shape. Trump is already killing people by sending them to the CECOT death camp in El Salvador, it is likely that the budget bill will pass, stealing away medicaid and SNAP from people, the destruction of NOAA, defunding of sciences, arrests of European tourists or returning citizens, warrantless arrests at courthouse hearings, and so forth.
I would like to assume that our politicians would see sense and end the madness, but that can’t be counted on. It is best if people get into the mindset that things will change, and to be in a fighting mood to force it to be for the better. At worst, people will feel silly for over-reacting. But if the regime continues on this path? Fewer people will fall prey to the regime, because they have been preparing.
I largely agree, but you say at worst people will feel silly. No, at worst what you suggest ends with death and suffering on a level that is hard to imagine.

It’s short sighted and naive, at best.

Is it bad that my first thought was Emil Cioran?
