Her drunk bf was excusing it by “I went to Iraq and my buddy fucking killed himself in 2007!” He spent the ride trying to be manipulative and emotionally abusive but he was really dumb and incoherently drunk. So he was just making tone noises, not even words. They were like he was trying to say every sentence as a question with the pitch rising at the end of every “sentence”. The ride ended and she was in my car for an extra minute or two and I just kept saying “LEAVE HIM”
