There is nothing natural about “natural scrolling”.
Thanks for increasing visibility on this.
It’s the same experience for me, but I still do a lot of Google searches based on Reddit content since there is a lot of information posted there over the years.
Air conditioner… After moving to Europe I’m amazed by how people are so miserable and complaining every day for 1 to 2 months, then just repeat it over and over every year.
When I was still a Linux noob I used to want to do all of the cool customizations and would often end up rendering the operating system unusable. Eventually I just switched to KDE whoch has a lot of customization built in. Some distros make it harder to shoot yourself in the foot, but I think being able to customize and run the latest software out of the box makes a huge difference.
My primary desktop is Windows 11, but literally no other computer I personally own runs Windows. Part of it is games, part of it is proprietary software (music production, dj, etc). I could probably game on Linux full time, but until the commercial software situation is improved I will always have an additional Windows or Mac computer.
No it’s very expensive here, but funding is quite different.
I’m almost 40 and on the verge of buying my first house. Most of it has to do with moving to Europe and funding works a bit different here.
What was your socio-economic background?
I actually enjoy cycling if I’m not doing it for exercising. More like joy riding. I find it relaxing the same way the post you’re commenting on said. But running… Never. 🙃
I wish I felt the same.
For me it’s just an unhealthy fascination. Tech is the one place where consumerism got it’s dirty claws in me. We didn’t have a computer in my household until I was 15 and it was a super slow and old PC my older brother bought for $500. This was back in 1999. I eventually became obsessed with finding the best value for money mobile devices and bought way too many phones, laptops and computers.
These people addicted to running tho… 👀
IDK how they do it. I hate running. I have had extended periods in my life where I exercised 6 times a week, but I never enjoyed it.
Jesus, did not see that coming. But good point.
LOL it’s more interesting this way
That’s the goal, but it may not work in practice. I often used Reddit as a place for curated information. So a lot of Google searches like “wireguard server reddit” to get good no nonsense information. I think the lack of population and time could make it hard for Lemmy.ml to immediately replace Reddit for me, but I hope it will be successful. I’m ML ideology by nature so the idea of the Fediverse really appeals to me.
