How about talking to Chuck Schumer about the concept of not being an utter coward?
The recent New Yorker article, The Cruel Kids’ Table, was particularly worrying because it illustrated how fascism has moved from the fringes into mainstream youth culture. We could be looking at a generation of enthusiastic young fascists in the wake of Trump.
Hey, they might hold a small sign or wear a special color for an afternoon. Sure to bring the new Nazis down, just like it did for Hitler.
Why would they pretend? If no one enforces the law the fascists will just revel in its impotence.
Ban Facebook and X/Twitter. They’re facilitating sedition.
That’s an insult to mental illness.
Yeah it wasn’t really about the mustard or the tan suit or the birth certificate.
Even so, endless fascism is still even worse. They won’t go willingly, and they won’t respect election results. Leave it too long and it will be as difficult as overthrowing Hitler or the USSR. Actually more difficult, because those regimes faced actual opposition from abroad, whereas now it feels like the whole world is going fascist.
All cishet white male conservative lives matter.
It actually does, but it supports other people too. That’s the bit they can’t stand.
Wow. What colour hands would they recommend? Let me guess…
There’s not really anything wrong with being incompetent, so long as you have the humility to admit it and learn from people who know better, and try not to cause harm. That’s not Musk’s minions though.
RFK Jr. would argue that dying of measles as a baby offers excellent protection against vaccines.
Edit: I thought I was being absurd, but today there’s a story about the father of an unvaccinated child who died of measles, saying he’s still glad he didn’t let her get vaccinated because he doesn’t trust the vaccine to be safe.
Oh man, Trump is going to declare martial law on Hitler’s birthday.
No, you’re a menace to the rest of the world.
Capitulating to fascists doesn’t get you off the hook. It just shows them you’re weak and easily duped.
Fascists must be fought, not appeased.
It sounds like the person with the knife may have been a Tesla dealer who didn’t want the news covered:
While covering the story for Seattle’s Morning News, a man approached KIRO Newsradio’s Luke Duecy and pulled out what appeared to be a knife.
“I can’t tell if that person is with another business that’s nearby or with this business. Someone clearly rolled in, older gentleman, did not want us being here, wanted us all to leave,” Duecy said.
“He decided to come up to me right before I came on air and tried to get me to leave, essentially. And then I told him “No.” And that’s when I saw this person reach in the back behind like a belt or something and pull something metallic out underneath, and I went “oh,” and there were unfortunately a lot of bad language between the two of us.
“That was a scary moment as well. But you know, obviously someone does not want us to be here and to show these vehicles, but that’s in fact what we’re doing.”
Easter Day
April 20th for all the ignorant non-Christians like myself.
They have an interesting fractal-like construction.
Right now Conservatives like Doug Ford are much more ready to cave to Trump’s demands than Carney. Pierre Poilievre would be the same way: talk big talk, but cave. And in the end what even would be the point of PP speaking for Canada, when PP’s agenda is to replicate some of the worst aspects of Trumpism in Canada anyway?
