Ah I saw this only now, otherwise I’d have subscribed to your instance!
It worked perfectly. I really don’t know how to thank you.
One question: with "main account’ on step 3 you mean my account here at Lemmy.world?
I don’t quite know how to post in a community on another instance: it doesn’t appear if I search for communities here in Lemmy.world.
Thank you for the heads-up!
Fantastic, thank you for the steps and explanation!
This reaches the borders of my understanding of the fediverse :) You mean I could create it on Lemmy.ml for example? Would I need to create an account there? I’ll explore, thank you for the suggestion.
Thank you for the suggestion. I tried from laptop with Firefox and Chromium, then from my phone (Firefox). But I see the same problem on all.
PS: there’s also another functionality of Klipper that I use from time to time: you can make the whole “killring” appear, and choose the entry you want to paste with the mouse: as you click it it’s entered. This is also bound to a key (in my case S-w
) and works no matter which window I’m in.
Gotcha. Yes, haven’t found anything that allows that specifically. But in my case I don’t need to enable klipper; it’s always active. No matter which windows I’m in, pressing C-v
will paste whatever it’s in the clipboard; whereas pressing e.g. S-v C-v
will choose the previous item in the clipboard and then paste it.
Unfortunately I didn’t enjoy the 1st season, just like other commenters here. A preliminary reason could be that the story is very different from the book, which is one of my most favourite sci-fi books ever. But even simply seeing this series as something different from the book, if found it too cheap: the characters are half-stereotypes, the events are what you’d expect, usual blood and sex to attract viewers…
Should go without saying, just my personal opinion and tastes. I’m happy that others enjoyed the series and I hope it’ll made them curious to read the books.
I understand, thank you for the explanation. We’ll get there! :)
I see, thank you for the explanation! Then it makes sense :)
Yes this is the community with most subscribers I’ve found so far. I’m interested in a community where manga are discussed, recommended, and so on. At the moment the vast majority of the posts here (“[DISC]” – does that stand for Discord?) seems to be about announcements of new chapters, and I wonder if they’re taking over a bit too much. Maybe it’s possible to create a community specifically for announcements? Or any other solutions? – Only if other members share my point of view as well, of course.
Octave is great! Just wanted to add for completeness that Matlab is also available for Linux (in some places you’re simply forced to use Matlab, so it’s good to know you don’t need to leave Linux for that).
If you right-click on the Klipper tray icon, select “Configure…” and then “Shortcuts”, you can assign shortcuts to move back and forth in the kill ring, and to paste. I have assigned S-v for backwards and S-C-v for forward. Then the usual C-v will paste. The tray icon also shows you the current selection (and the ones above and below) in the killring, as you move through it.
What I don’t understand about the ending is this, if anyone has hypotheses (or knows from the books):
Why do they project a green world in the helmet of those who go out? Doesn’t it defeat the purpose?
And it isn’t just a matter of numbers, but of content quality too. My impression is that those who are leaving Reddit for the fediverse alternatives right now are also those that create more meaningful and useful content. So the loss for Reddit is already much larger than the numbers tell.
This also connects with the strange way of reasoning about “making profit”, and with some comments I’ve read saying “did Reddit users expect a free lunch?”. The point is that the value of Reddit comes exclusively from the content, and the content was given for free to Reddit by the users. Reddit was having a free lunch too. It’d be funny if people started to say “You want me to post and create content on this platform? Well pay me then”.
Completely agree! The finale left room for a new season or a new related series.
I think that explains it! It had 26 characters.
