I spent 3 days in the Gambia back in 2018, as part of a trip riding a motorbike from Dakar to Bissau. The Gambia was, by far, the least enjoyable country of that trip. The most memorable experiences in The Gambia were:
- Multiple people trying to sell me hashish
- A super aggressive sex worker trying to pick me up in a bar
- Getting sprayed by foul water coming out the back of a truck hauling “harvested sand” from along the coast
- Being threatened and verbally abused by traffic cops who were annoyed when I refused to pay them bribes
likely the best strategy is to sign up for the newsletter/email that each airline who flies that route operates.
also, if you fly this enough, then frequent flyer miles/points will be your best option for saving money, regardless of special deals.
