i hated them to death while on the school, but my job has been glorified group projects for some years already and i found out the main problem with them was that most people usually cared nothing about the actual project. this alho happens during the work but there people care at least for their individual reviews so it’s less painful
been using a kensington one for a couple of years and I don’t think i will be able to use a mouse ever again. While this model is not great and it could use some improvements. The whole idea of a trackball is really comfortable
that said, I lost the original ball and it has been incredibly hard to find a proper replacement. we have tried many different ones and they all have downsides that make the experience not great but still better than a mouse
i have been saying this for a while but het people (mostly men) tend to be so far from het that i don’t really understand what they stand for anymore
i have a weird thing where even if i have enough time, i just keep finding things that i need to do before leaving. they are usually simple to do but brain defines them as urgent so i cannot just push them for later and they keep me from actually leaving the house until it’s late. this becomes worse for things i don’t really want to do but have to, so i think it’s like a subconcious way i have to cope with the anxiety of leaving or something
it is very funny how gamers were saying that this was the good samurai game because ubisoft went woke and now they are strongly backing away from that because this is also woke…
I had to stop reading manga because my tablet died so I have been unable to continue most of my reads. I have been trying chinese mangha (is the name correct?) and I have been enjoying it more since I’m kind of tired of manga tropes. Regarding anime, with the end of the season and the start of the new one, there is not much to talk about yet. I also got a bit burned out from anime in general so I have not watched as much as I usually do. Some highlights from the old season are:
Dead Demons Dededede Destruction - Amazing show. Engaging in every moment from the beginning to almost the end. Great characters and subtle societal comentary about migration and liberalism. Didn’t really like the ending tho. I understand why it went that way but it felt more like a cop out than a proper resolution. I haven’t read the manga yet so it might be a presentation problem (why does ep 0 even exist???).
Oshi no Ko 2 - Adaptation of my least liked (debatible) arc from the manga and I enjoyed even then. The anime art decisions were really good and make it more engaging than I can remember feeling when reading the manga. Story is still a mess and I can complain about it a lot but at least it was fun. Also, I was getting very tired of this last manga arc so I’m not really missing it but I have heard good opinions of the last episodes so I might try to start reading again soon
Senpai wa Otokonoko - I really liked the start but I slowly started disliking most things about it. I am aware that expecting good queer representation in anime is hard but even then I got disapointed. Worst part is that I read the manga a couple of years ago and was disapointed even then. I really need to start handling my expectations better.
Old anime I’m watching:
Rockman.EXE - It’s a kids anime but it has something that is hard to replicate. The vision of the internet in that era was really fun and interesting. It reminds me a lot about Digimon. I’m enjoying this alot but thinking that it has 5 seasons of ~50 episodes is making me wonder where am I going to stop.
ODDTAXI - Rewatched it recently to watch the live action spinnoff and it’s amazing how good it is. Characters are great and their whole interaction is wacky and weird but very enjoyable. Spinoff is simply bad so no comments.
Movies:
Blue Giant - Simple story but amazing concert animations and incredible music. It was probably one of the best animated experiences I have ever had and I loved every single second of it. For whoever enjoys jazz, this is something I would completely recommend

i watched the first 3 ones and the funny part is that I cannot recall a single thing about them. i don’t have good memory but I usually remember the biggest plot points or the impacting scenes and for these ones there is nothing other than data. it feels so weird because it means that they didn’t had a single impacting thing that the brain could keep.
i wanted to watch the new one but it’s hard to commit on something i know it’s going directly into oblivion
scream of independence
this is probably the first time I read this in english and sounds rad. it could be the name of a metal band or something
this was not my idea of gender abolition but sure as hell I would welcome it
honorable mention to outbreak. i only played it in single player mode but i’m sure it would probably enter the list if i had the chance to play multiplayer. between it and REmake were two very good ways of moving the franchise forward and keeping the formula interesting. sadly, they went the action route so we got okay-ish games (4 is great although it still ranks way below the classics for me) instead of hypotetical masterpieces.
Peace Walker has some very good things but the game is either hit or miss. it’s very short missions oriented that are meant to be replayed multiple times. it has a couple of mobile-game-like minigames that are fun and weird to play. it totally feels like a portable game even on the remaster versions. it’s recommended to play it with multiple players if possible.
story is enjoyable even if it’s a mess. it has some questionable points but overall it’s okay. it also replaces the codec calls with tapes that are literally meant to be heard on the go
can someone explain how does these beds are supposed to avoid people having sex? I cannot see a single thing that woud even be a problem for it.
also, is not that beds are a requirement for sex, but that is a different discussion
are they finally adding professional sex at the olimpics?

i recently rewatched tamers (my favourite childhood digimon series) and while i liked the overal series, a big part of it was a slog to watch and almost dropped it a couple of times.
i have been wanting to rewatch the whole adventure saga, but the experience with tamers made it a bit scary to revisit
I am not watching too many anime this season, since there were barely any interesting new shows for me so now that I have some free time I might try starting something older soon
Anime
Dead Dead Demons Dededede Destruction(2024) - The premise looks interesting and I’m enjoying the character interactions a lot so I have big expectations, but after 6 eps, I am still very confused about the end goal of the story. It looks like something big is cooking behind scenes but it is still not visible. I have enjoyed other works by the author so I expect this one to be good.
Senpai wa Otokonoko(2024) - is this good trans representation or transmisoginy? cannot say yet. The main character acts a lot like a person with gender disphoria and the show depicts well a lot of common trans experiences like experimenting gender and euphoria. it appears to be going in a possitive direction. but at the same time, it has some… questionable scenes and the show empatizing that “he is a boy” in both the english subtitle and in some scenes so it give weird negative vibes. I remember having a bunch of problems with the manga back in the day, but I cannot remember almost anything of it.
Tasogare Outfocus(2024) - it feels a lot like old school yaoi, with a bunch of questionable tropes and a very simple and predictable romance progress. Characters are okay and not anoying and there are not many queer anime recently so it’s tolerable. hoping it improves soon or I might drop this one
Serial Experiments Lain(1998) - started it a couple of months ago but it’s not really hooking me in. idea is interesting and we really like the weird world that it depicts, but somehow i have a hard time continuing it often. I’m halfway and it looks like the story is finally connecting so this might change soon.
i think is more likely to be a “mainstream gamers do not like this” line of thought, like with motion controllers. DS and 3DS did really well, but they had always the “casual” label (analogue to the wii and motion controllers) so “mainstream gamers” stayed away from them. even with the wiiu, that had native dual screens, nintendo tried to cater to a “mainstream gamers” audience and there are too few games that actually uses the dual screen effectively.
there might be more to this, like casual audiences moving to mobile games and only “gamers” buying consoles, but i’m not educated enough in the topic to make a judgement there.

what the fuck is this??? how did someone actually accepted this?? how did I not hear about it before? this is silly on so many levels. like, patentings characters jumping or so (don’t doubt something like this exist, but also don’t want to know)
the sp was clearly superior to the gba in almost anything, but it was a pain to play with (for me at least). i could have long sessions on a gba without any problem, but playing with the sp for long time was painful and uncomfortable. it was okay for rpg or games that did not require high reflexes or button mashing
decided to try supertuxkart again after dismissing it as a bad game years ago. surprisingly, it’s quite entertaining. it still have very rough edges but it’s actually fun to play for a bit
