Don’t forget he even named one of his children “X”.
The only scientifically sound system of belief is agnosticism. The absence of proof is not the proof of absence.
More like a serial kleptomaniac who can’t help but forever try to take what’s not his. “Thrill of the crime” or something.
A lot of heist movies center around similar characters who are always tempted by “one last score”. Their penchant for crime is their defining characteristic, the only thing they’re comfortable doing because they’ve become so good at it.
I was an early adopter of T9 typing on my Nokia back in the day. When I finally got a smartphone, I found a keyboard app that had T9 as an option and used that. When Swype first came out, I couldn’t believe that another typing system could actually beat the speed and ease of T9 typing.
I’ve always preferred to type in full words and sentences, and I’m a good speller, so most of the reasons other people don’t like swipe typing don’t apply to me.
People don’t notice or remember things that look natural. Those background actors will absolutely stick out like sore thumbs when they’re not backed by real performances.
Implementing changes on announcement (or lack thereof), with no warning or transition period, is entirely Elon-esque as well.
Reddit’s Contributor Program could earn you real money for your Reddit karma [Android Authority]. This mirror’s Twitter’s experiment to pay select top contributors [Washington Post].
This would just accelerate Reddit’s plunge into “bots upvoting karma farming repost bots”.
Reddit not announcing the replacement for awards/coins yet totally makes sense if it will be something like this or crypto related, though they’re just uselessly kicking the backlash can down the road.
Lurkers by definition have no impact, besides their potential to eventually become a creator/participant. Having a high ratio of voters/commenters to creators is more important to surface quality content.
At least Infinite’s battle pass system doesn’t have FOMO, because paid battle passes don’t expire, and you can buy old battle passes at any time. Starting with Season 2, battle passes give back enough credits to buy the next battle pass, which means you only need to buy 2 battle passes to have full access to every battle pass.
All the FOMO is in the events (limited time mini battle passes) and weekly rewards.
Oh, it’s gonna take a lot longer than a couple weeks, unless all the Reddit refugees leave in that time.
The Google Play listing says “contains ads” and “in-app purchases” just like Boost for Reddit, so I assume that means the same ad-supported model with pay to unlock additional features and remove ads. Though that could just be leftover code from the Reddit version.
