I what material way? It all seemed like surface-level larping to me. I’ll believe they wanted it, but it didn’t seem like there was any planning or substance.

Genuinely curious to know if there was actually some deeper conspiracy, but all the coverage I’ve seen has painted it as little more than playing.

Religion in China has been entirely neutered and completely divorced from any political power. Churches are firmly under the thumb of the state and house churches trying to avoid these restrictions are illegal. You literally can’t be even a low-level public servant and openly religious beyond vague spiritual folk practices on holidays.

China’s absolutely tolerant of religious people existing, and are tolerant of religion as a personal concept, but in my mind they’re absolutely anti-religion in an organised form.

Can you link these Marx writings you keep referencing? I’m curious how he’d explain countries like China being so anti-religion, in practice if not in rhetoric? Can they just afford to be because they’re post-revolution if not yet post-capitalism?

Why do you care about how they vote? It literally doesn’t matter.

Find it pretty funny how electoralist brainworms have infected even socialist Americans to the point that they’d think convincing someone not to vote is a useful course of action.

Just laugh and ignore him honestly. Or go vote to better maintain a friendship. Or lie about it. Again it simply doesn’t matter.

Radical anarchist groups skirmished against communists and liberal republicans for like a week in Barcelona, known as the May Days, but that didn’t really compare to the conflict against the Nationalists.

Not trying to make a dig at you at all, but I find it frustrating that the Spanish Civil War has been so heavily characterised by small incidents of leftist infighting, when really it was probably the single greatest example of diverse leftist unity behind a single cause in history. I think it’s come from an attempt by western leftists like Orwell to discredit Stalin, and it’s just stuck in the popular understanding of the conflict.

Honestly I’ll call anyone real by their chosen name no matter how much I dislike them. Generally name jokes (Putler, Drumpf, Xi Jinpooh, Leon, etc) are just infantile and reddit-tier unfunny, if not actually offensive.
