Teknevra@lemmy.worldOPto Fediverse@lemmy.ml•Has anyone ever considered attempting a potential federated alternative to the major Porn Sites?English41·16 days agoI’m already aware (and active) on LemmyNSFW.
What I was imagining though, was a platform like Peertube or Lemmy, only JUST for NSFW.
Kinda like having Pornhub, but decentralized.
Sex Workers could have their videos/stories/etc. on there, and perhaps use either payment apps like:
PayPal,
Cash App,
etc.
to enact transactions.
Perhaps call it something like BlueTube (because Blue Balls), or something similar.
Teknevra@lemmy.worldOPto Fediverse@lemmy.ml•Has anyone ever considered attempting a potential federated alternative to the major witchcraft and coven websites and communities?English51·18 days agoI added links to the spaces.
But, basically, they’re spaces for Pagans, Wiccans, Witches, etc.
Places where they can practice their beliefs/religions, sell items (i.e homemade clothing, soap, ritual items, herbs, jewlery, etc.), without abuse, harassment, people attempting to proslytize to them, etc.

I already know that I am being tracked by the government, etc.

Teknevra@lemmy.worldOPto Fediverse@lemmy.ml•Has anyone thought about building a federated/imageboard-style alternative—something like a federated 4chan/8chan?English211·1 month agoKey Differences Between 4chan/8chan and a Lemmy Community
4chan/8chan (now 8kun):
- Type: Imageboard websites where users create and moderate their own boards.
- Structure: Each board is independently run by a board owner with minimal site-wide moderation.
- Content: Known for a wide range of content, including controversial and often unmoderated discussions. These sites have been linked to hate speech, conspiracy theories (like QAnon), and have faced criticism for hosting illegal or harmful material.
- Anonymity: Users typically post anonymously; there is little to no user account structure.
- Moderation: Very limited, mostly left to individual board owners, which has led to significant issues with illegal and harmful content.
Lemmy Community:
- Type: Part of a “federated” social platform inspired by Reddit, where users create topic-based communities (similar to subreddits).
- Structure: Each community is moderated by appointed users, and rules are typically clearer and more strictly enforced than on imageboards.
- Content: Focused on discussion, link sharing, and community engagement, with a strong emphasis on moderation and decentralized control.
- Anonymity: Users have accounts and can build reputations, though they can still use pseudonyms.
- Moderation: Community-driven moderation with platform-level tools to prevent abuse and illegal content.
In short: 4chan/8chan are anonymous, minimally moderated imageboards with a history of controversial content, while Lemmy communities are user-moderated, account-based discussion forums with stronger moderation and decentralized control.

Teknevra@lemmy.worldOPto Fediverse@lemmy.ml•Looking for a Fediverse Alternative to Tumblr: Loforo vs Wafrn vs Goblin vs Others?English1·2 months agoI just checked Evil Wafrn, and now I’m confused.
What is the difference between Wafrn, and “Evil Wafrn”?
is it just a different Wafrn instance?
Is it a completely different and separate Fediverse platform?
I attempted to log into “Evil Wafrn” using my regular Wafrn login and that failed.

Teknevra@lemmy.worldOPto Fediverse@lemmy.ml•Has anyone thought about a Fediverse bot platform/app?English4·2 months agoOut of curiosity, why DO people dislike bots here?
Not that I am such a major Bot user, but I feel like they could defeated be helpful, as well as add some variety.

Teknevra@lemmy.worldOPto Connect for Lemmy App@lemmy.ca•Integrating Sync-like Features into Connect for Lemmy: An Open-Source Alternative?English31·3 months agoThese are just some random ones that I randomly thought of:

2.) Color-Coded Comments: Enable color-coded comments for easier thread scanning
3.) Per Account Settings: Customize settings individually for each account
4.) Experimental Options: Allow users to beta test new features
5.) Premium Option: Potentially add a subscription option for users who wish to subscribe.
6.) Swipe-back Functionality: Add the ability to move between sections without using the back button
7.) Long-Press Previews: Quickly preview images, GIFs, and albums without opening them fully.
8.) Potential Premium Features:
Cloud backup, ad-free browsing, user tagging, text translation, text selection from images, etc.

Teknevra@lemmy.worldOPto Voyager@lemmy.world•Feature Suggestion: Enhanced User Profile Image InteractionEnglish3·3 months agoPerhaps offer it as a setting, that users could potentially turn on/off?
It’s just that, IMHO, there’s no point in having Profile Images, if you’re not allowed to zoom in /out, and see them up close.

I do engage.
I just happen to have a busy life.
I just like to toss out ideas that I think of for other users/potential developers to potentially use, if they wish to.
