It’s great. I also downloaded DigiLux so I can swipe left and right to change brightness as well.
I like NixOS

Mail-in voting I guess (in states that allow it)
Station to Station is one I might get as well. I was also thinking about Last Train Home, even though it’s more of an RTS game.
Also The Crew 2 is on sale for $1, which seems like a good deal even though apparently the game is not that great.
An interesting comment from when this was asked a year ago.
Funniest one imo is Lemmegians (as in Norwegians). Not a very practical name though.
It even comes with the engine! You can right-click on a node or property and click “open documentation” and it opens in the code editor
Nix as well
I have home and root partitions encrypted with LUKS, and since they use the same password it automatically unlocks both of them. I think it tries using the first successful password to unlock the other partitions.
Born in 2004, I barely used the internet as a kid. Most my video games were off of CDs, and I occasionally got to use my dad’s Steam account. In like 4th grade I played some Wizards101, League of Legends, and some flash games, and started watching Minecraft youtubers. Besides that I mostly used the internet to download Minecraft mods. I kinda eased into the internet that way so I never really was surprised at having so much accessible to me.
I didn’t get on social media until I got on Reddit in high school. I tried Tumblr a bit but didn’t like it since it was too different. I still don’t use Twitter or anything, just Reddit and Lemmy and occasionally Pinterest.
Started playing Factorio again with a friend, been fun so far. Just today I played Tooth and Tail again which is really cool, as well as Skullgirls Second Encore which I’m not great at but is still fun.
Ironically, on Jerboa I don’t see any alt text.
Yeah just join my Steam broadcast
Oh and the clock hands on the nose as well
Me doing my online banking using the Steam browser in Big Picture mode
I’m on sh.itjust.works and haven’t heard of any issues with it, it’s been working pretty well.
Back in middle school the punishment was a slap to the back of the neck, and I never heard anything about putting your finger in the 👌 to avoid it. Simpler times.
It takes some fiddling, but I’ve been using HDR on Linux since Plasma 6 came out. If you don’t have an AMD GPU it would probably be really difficult to set up though.
I love Loop Habit Tracker, I’ve been using it for almost 3 years and it works great.
Yeah, it probably looks quite a lot better. This one doesn’t look great in dark scenes, and I can see how per-pixel dimming would be a big improvement even in brighter scenes. But this one looks a lot better than my old TN monitor at least, and I just did not want to worry about burn-in or brightness degradation. I’m also a CS student so I do a decent bit of programming, and I got it for a crazy deal from Best Buy for $550, while the Alienware looks to be around $1000.
In terms of brightness, I used to run my old monitor at the lowest possible, but now I kinda wish this one could get even brighter than it is lol.
Now that I’ve gotten a taste of true HDR though, I can see how an oled would fix quite a few issues with this one. Thinking about it now I think I might rather have a 1440p oled than this 4k MiniLED, HDR just makes that big of an impact. Although most of the time this one looks pretty good. I was just hoping this would last me a while until MicroLED or something actually came out.
