I scanned through his wiki page and it says that he condemned the Jan 6th attacks and was generally not impressed with how different republicans behave - so it seems there is at least some light.

I can confirm this. I worked in England, Italy, Switzerland and Germany (Operations/Logistics) and I refuse to believe that England/UK is that high up. Italys placement I do believe however.
