If it weren’t real life I’d like to see that go down lmao.
It would also be hilarious to see Trump’s reaction to being taken down by the Swifties.
I hope you’re right. I was definitely one of those people who thought Hillary was a slam dunk and thought Trump would never win.
I’ve not been confident in an election cycle since. I want to be optimistic and say Trump will sink himself and that we will all have the satifaction of seeing his ass in prison. But, he has weasled his way out of every negative consequence in his life and survived political scandals that would have sunk any other politician.
The dude is a cult.
Interesting. As with most microsoft products, it remains to be seen how effective this will actually be. Still, it’s indicative of what the technology is capable of.

Incredibly shortsighted. This conflict has no easy solution and everyone involved wants Biden to take their side.
The trouble here is that the democrats coalition has stakes in both sides. This entire conflict was practically a gift to the republicans.
Account and platform support.
Right now there are no apps for kbin. There was one (Artemis) that was in development, and the developer had expressed early on that she was open to making a multi-platform app that supported kbin and lemmy.
I do not know if that is still in the cards as there has not been an update on Artemis for a while now.
Investigators have found some sort of suitcase or briefcase on-scene, sources told ABC News. They are treating it as a possible explosive device as a precaution and the bomb squad is handling the package.
Right now, the situation is very fluid with FBI at the scene.
The last I heard, @hariette couldn’t add kbin.social to Artemis until the API was released and the instance updated to have it.
It also looks like hariette took a short break from Artemis for personal reasons, but returned recently and even replied to a comment about enabling mbin instances for the app.
Perhaps once ernest formally enables the API, hariette will be able to update Artemis accordingly? Just my guess.
Not yet - Ernest is working on it but is dealing with some issues in his personal life first.

Yeah, I read that this was supposed to happen this week, but so far I have not heard about any updates.
I fully support ernest and harriet each taking their time to do it right, though. A bad update is worse than a delayed one.
Yeah, I know next to nothing about programming a social media website or making an app so I want to be patient; I can’t even begin to imagine the amount of work this takes.
I know ernest is working really hard to make sure the update goes exactly as planned and that takes time. I also know that it’s a lot of work for harriet too on the Artemis side of things.
To the surprise of no one here, they are continuing to make reddit worse.
Wishing her the best - at 72 years old, she does have a heightened risk of serious illness. She’s vaccinated though, which increases her chances the symptoms will stay mild.
There is truth to this. But, Reddit’s drama also put the spotlight on the fediverse and the need for alternatives to Reddit in general. Personally, I can say I did not even know it existed. Over the last ten-or-so years, Reddit really did develop a monopoly on forums. The progress we have seen with Kbin, lemmy, etc is because of their heavy-handed and poorly executed crackdown on third-party apps.
But still, you are correct that the fediverse was not yet a full-fledged alternative to Reddit in June. Many lemmy clients, such as Memmy or Mlem, were not ready yet. And most promising Kbin client, Artemis, is still in beta as well. Even Kbin itself is still technically a beta (not that I don’t love them both lol). Had all of these been ready in June, then I think the Reddit exodus would have been much more dramatic and impactful.
I think we need to give it a bit more time. After all, Reddit didn’t get huge overnight either. So long as we keep posting and commenting away, and create environments/communities that are welcoming, we should be able to eventually grow into something that can rival Reddit.
This is going to be a real problem for the actual trial, especially if they deliver a guily verdict (I say if becuase Trump has never faced the consequences of anything in his life).
Right. I have to wonder if this was really a mistake, though? With a case this high profile, I would expect them to be extra cautious.
Of course, mistakes do happen.
I am not surpised. I will, however, be surprised if he faces consequences.
I honestly hope they’re too far up their own asses to realize its a liability yet. If they consider it profitable into next years election cycle, and the trend of the last few special elections holds, then having them double down could really benefit the democrats.
Then, maybe the US could get the majority required to enshrine abortion rights into law nationally and put an end to this nonsense.
I acknowledge this could all just be wishful thinking, however.
I wish I could say I’m surprised.
To the right, the “rights of a fetus” are only relevant when its convenient to their agenda. Otherwise, they don’t exist. They’ll shamelessly use whatever arguments are in their arsenal to achieve their version of reality. Consistency and hypocrisy be damned.
Looks like the enshittification is about to get even worse than it was. Perhaps we might see another exodus to lemmy/kbin once this happens?
