From my experience, when I was a “baby leftist” aka anti “tankie” lib, what got me into reading was “watching” some of her videos. Later, when I got more knowlegable I started to absolutely despise her and hate her “politics”.
But if she has a parasocial relationship with her fans, similar to the one Vaush has then I agree, maybe I just didn’t take all of her words for granted like her viewers do
I think contrapoints is ok for “radicalizing” liberals a bit, but she is a liberal deep down and a shill for Obama and Hillary Clinton
I think I’ve seen a Twitter post about new Syria’s government abandoning “state-led development” and turning to neoliberalism. If that’s the case then they’re absolutely fucked
In my country the school’s history book cites Solzhenitsyn’s estimate of 66 million dead in the gulag. We also had to learn by heart the theories of Arendt and Orwell.
All the books that we were required to read said that “Revolution bad, reform good” or “The world is literally worse after the revolution”, it’s a joke
That’s why I often try to stay away from my phone/PC while listening or I try to do something else (like reading). It helps a lot
Yes, I sometimes day dream when I listen to music, especially when it’s really enganging, but I usually don’t, because I have a very bad habit of skipping to the part of the track that I like the most
Reminder that Noah Smith said that “Palestinian protesters suck”, because of them burning the US flag
Also Noah Smith the most “I support the current thing” journalist that I have ever seen online. He makes statements like “Egypt will industrialize in 5 nanoseconds” for some weird reasons and also always blames “the left” for being too radical. Average neoliberal.
