I don’t really think that this is the case, especially nowadays. There might be MLs in Japan, but at most they’ve probably moved to the only ML party in Japan I’m aware of, the Japanese Workers’ Communist Party, but even they seemingly hold questionable positions. I don’t live in Japan though, so take anything I say with a grain of salt.
