All he did was honk his horn at a car that wasn’t moving getting onto the highway. I guess the guy followed him and it got physical. He’s okay and the guy was arrested but do not honk your horn or engage with other people on the road for real.

Driving for food delivery is stressful as fuck. I could feel I was way more prone to get frustrated and potentially get into an accident when I was trying to rush through deliveries to make the most money I could during active periods. Thankfully I don’t have to do it anymore but for like a year there I was feeling even less safe than usual on the road.

Never honking unless there is a clear and present danger to someone’s life or someone is gonna hit something is probably the best way to live your life without dying. So many people in cars are one negative interaction away from being willing to kill someone in amerikkka

I’m sure this does not apply to all countries even remotely, people probably honk all the time in other places without people going berserk, a unique Yankee carbrain sickness.

You need to be profoundly alienated to be in a state of mind where you’re willing to lose it all over going from point A to B.

At this point, I don’t think I will ever understand being so hateful over so little. People can be so senseless when it comes to violence. I once watched a man get gunned down in his car over a petty argument.

I have never had cause to use a horn, and every use of a horn I have experienced has made the situation less safe. Unless you are literally a runaway vehicle, what the fuck are you communicating with your horn other than “you know what would make this situation safer? A CONTENTLESS DISTRACTION!”

Okay so seriously this is something to worry about; I met a guy in university who was the salt of the earth, also very collected and always dressed neat and looking like he’s ready for a business meeting at any time (guy came to university dressed in a business suit; although he was in his thirties, so he probably had a job anyway and that might be the reason); he disappeared for a while and then when he came back he was just dressed like an average university student and you got the sense that this man was dead inside. I found out from him that he was stuck behind someone in traffic back a while ago and honked for the guy to move. The guy came out and beat him near to death, causing him to bleed internally and requiring immediate surgery; the surgeon botched the surgery and damaged his colon (or maybe it was already damaged from the attack?) and he needed a second surgery; the poor guy now unfortunately needs a colostomy bag.

No one deserves to have something happen to them like this, but folks please be careful out there; some folks are just some of the worst humans and could ruin your life for nothing.

I had a guy get out and threaten me with a gun once over some nonsense (he was honking and on my ass the whole time). I was driving in a straight line at speed limit on a highway in the slow lane what do you expect a fucking telepathic connection? When I saw him get out of his car in traffic with a gun I just drove off on the shoulder. Anyways fuck cars

If someone’s not moving, I give the horn a very light, brief tap, with the idea that it will come across more like a cordial reminder. “Hey by the way the light turned green.” I don’t know if it comes across that way to others, but when people do it to me that’s how I interpret it.

That is like one of my worst nightmares and one of the reasons I practice a saintlike horn discipline, treating it like a cursed sword I must only draw in dire circumstances.
