I always find it weird when people here call him a liberal.

He has some liberal tendencies sure, but he’s closer to us than to them.

Closer to us than them is just another version of the lesser evilism we mock liberals for lol. He is a radlib, and people shouldn’t think streamers are gonna change the world. But people can watch whatever slop they want 🤷‍♀️

I don’t think he’s a radlib. Nobody is perfect, everyone has bad takes sometimes including here, and it’s pointless to look for idealogical purity because none of us have it, that’s just secarianism.

We still have a bunch of carnists on Hexbear which is liberal behaviour, and we aren’t gonna call them radlibs for that because it’s not enough to define someone’s entire ideology.

Hasan is absolutely NOT a “radlib” (radical liberal).

Unless this was some poorly executed sarcasm, I don’t think you know what a radlib actually is or you’ve never watched Hasan (which is fine). Also, no one thinks streamers are gonna change anything.

This post is effectively addressing something no one said or thought while also misusing a word as its central thesis.

A radlib, just to put it out there, is someone who does like point of privilege stuff (we’ve all seen that video). Or is obsessed with identity over class basically. “Omg, how could you, a white-passing man, say that?!” Aka: All the most annoying motherfuckers on earth. Obsessed with aesthetics and identity, zero material analysis, zero self-awareness. It’s approximately 70% of political commentators on TikTok from what I’ve seen (which isn’t much).

Hasan is much further left than any liberals. He presents as like a Lula style leftist. More left of Bernie. Somewhere in that area. But if you listen to his analysis on stuff and listen to the sources he cites for his thinking about stuff… he’s read Marx, Lenin, etc. I think his actual tendencies are further left of that Bernie/Lula area, but he knows that won’t sell well to your average westoid brained viewer.

His foreign policy views alone, as an American, are enough to firmly cement him well outside the realm of liberals who are consistently (even right now. Today with the pro-genocide UN vote again) pro-genocide, pro-imperialism, pro-US hegemony which Hasan is not and no one could accidentally believe he is if they listen to him.

Small asterisk on everything with “He must maintain a surface level presentation of certain views due to TOS on Twitch/YouTube.” We can’t know if he really believes certain things or not because he literally cannot say what he’s thinking regarding US veterans or Ukraine/Russia. If you come out super hard saying vets “deserve” anything bad happening, Twitch’s morons in charge will ban you. So, you gotta read between the lines sometimes if it’s a cornerstone of American imperialism (US military, Israel, NATO, etc.)
