Cars are definitely easier to follow. Before the current rules drivers were constantly complaining about dirty air, overheating, etc. There were even frequent incidents where a car following would go wide because of a loss of downforce. That doesn’t really seem to happen anymore.
And look at how many attempts a driver can make at a pass before either backing off or succeeding. That alone shows how much better cars are at following.
Before the new regs they really had to make desperate lunges because they would only get 1 chance to make something happen each time they got close.
He is right considering qualifying. Not so sure about the cars being easier to follow. Also, DRS trains.
