Lemmy seems like the right place to ask this. Personally I’ve really enjoyed Gurgle, which is a FOSS Wordle clone app.

While MPC-HC was smooth and used less resources. However it is not available for Linux. So if it’s a software for Linux, I guess VLC is the best choice.
