without knowing the book my first thought was “the edgy Rockstar game from 2003? kind of a weird choice”
Same, at first I thought: damn I guess it is trans rights to kill people with plastic bags
Honestly not too far from the point of the novel, but also like compound bows, hunting rifles, their hands etc
Unlimited trauma from fiction upon the audiences of whatever streaming platform this ends up on btw.
I still cry when I think about the ending, even just the last lines before Sapphos poem. Like Im tearing up rn, as much as I think this is a kick ass thing to happen I think, emotionally, I’d have to tap out
Me: this book is really good
My partner: I’m glad you are enjoying it
Me: oh I’m really not
It’s such a hard recommendation, because I did really love it, I did feel it was transformative, I did really engage with it, but also yeah it made me feel bad and very emotional. It’s been like 2 years since I’ve actually read it and I’m still getting teary and it’s weird to say “hey, I think you should read this really great splatter horror trans themes book, it’ll make you cry!”
Holy shit, am I gonna see JKR get ripped apart by ghouls?
AAAAAAAAA I fucking knew A24 couldn’t just take away Schoenbrun directed Nevada without something funny and good happening!!!
First I’ve heard of this book but it sounds up my alley, must be based if one of the Wachowski’s is on board.
It’s good. But it takes a little to warm up so stick with it. Cuckoo is also really good.
I haven’t heard of this but just read the summary and it sounds amazing. I just downloaded the audio book and will probably start it this weekend.
I know nothing about this book but the little intro on goodreads and what you all have said here but it’s not in my library hold list
