Definitely not the case in my area. The price of eating out is completely wild and the quality has decreased at the same time. Might not be possible depending on where you are, but costco + asian markets is pretty much the only way I’ve found to keep the grocery bill reasonable.
well, still not reasonable but better than the alternatives.
If i just want slop in my gut i can get cheap slop cheaper than buying ingredients for a prepared meal but if we’re comparing equal quality foods then no, it’s not cheaper.
Grocery prices where i live are insane though so that helps the ratio
