I love the part when he stopped wearing the ear patch because he just didn't feel like it anymore. Or maybe someone in his inner circle said it made him look weak.

Was it even his ear? I don’t think the blood was fake, I think he actually did get injured. But, I’m not convinced it hit his ear at all, unless it was multiple really shallow scratches that all healed very fast and with no damage visible after a few days.
