The Cultural Anarchists are bullied pretty hard here. You can like stuff that’s culturally anarchist, like punk rock and graffiti and other “anarchist” associated things and be anything.

Which means more often than not the people who specifically enjoy that particular cultural segment are in the default political position of uninformed liberal. Which means you suddenly have a ton of liberals who think they’re anarchists because they like listening to the Sex Pistols or Anti-Flag.

The only reason you don’t have the same issue with Marxist Leninists (at least not at the same scale) is because there isn’t really a massive cultural market that has been created by Marxist Leninists. Anarchists got rolled into situatinalism and maintained a presence in the West during the development of the “diffuse spectacle” (to quote Guy).

But yeah, the whole hatred of anarchists thing is just a hatred of liberals. Anarchism as an ideology is something that can be discussed while liberalism just needs to be mocked.
