I am asking this because of the ever increasing support from the bourgeoisie, as the contradictions withing the french bourgeois class due to the fall of their neo-colonial empire and the decay of western hegemony. In 2027 Le Pen will frame herself as the true opposition to the current state of things as the NPF libs and Macronists inevitably fail to resolve any of their current problems.

Besides the PCRF, all of the major communist/socialist parties are social fascists, leaving the working class with no reliable party to stand by against the rise of fascism.

So, are we doomed to see a fascist Le Pen ruling France by 2027?

Oh it’s definitely going to happen, the social democrat “left” disregard the economy like its their job (it is their job).

Unless there is some major effort to revitalize national industry, the economic situation will only get worse and it will lead to the far-right.

No. Anything can happen in three years.

“The line has been trending up” is not a prediction that the line will go up.

    Imo it’s going to happen

I still have hope for a secret Stalin card in the new popular front’s hand that would play but honestly that would be an absolute miracle

Sadly NPF cannot and will not agree on anything because it’s a big bag of contradictions with a liberal majority.

Didn’t the popular front get a lot of votes this last elections? Which might signal some possibility of putting some strong opposition

Problem is, the Popular Front has a big chunck that belongs to the “Socialist Party” which traumatized everyone by winning the 2014 presidency and :

      • Doing a right wing budget policy
      • Doing a right wing worker’s rights policy
      • Doing a right wing mass surveillance policy
      • Naming the biggest Zionist in town as prime minister
      • Naming literally Macron minister of the economy

You can imagine how thin the ice is for this alliance

Sure, but still there is a chance of it working well enough to prevent le pen, its not by any stretch a certainty but might be a possibility

Just as revolution is built, imperialism&colonialism turned inward is also built. As imperialism and colonialism are themselves built. That the conditions develop toward making such a thing more favorable or unfavorable to being built does not make it inevitable.

Cop City in the US is an example of this. They’re trying to build a police force that will no doubt be used against the citizens, given everything we know about how US police operate.

So I would say, look for what the fascists are trying to build in France. What organizations do they have, who are they targeting for recruitment (such as weaponizing the youth), what physical force are they building or maintaining. I know the conditions won’t be identical to the US, but things still have to be built by someone. “Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun”, as Mao said.

What I’m kind of trying to get at here is to look at: 1) how can they reach the point of obtaining that power and 2) what can they do with it, materially.

And in the same way, what can be done to organize against it and build an alternative.

    Hope that makes sense.
