Roku is exploring ways to show consumers ads on its TVs even when they are not using its streaming platform: The company has been looking into injecting ads into the video feeds of third-party devices connected to its TVs, according to a recent patent filing.
This way, when an owner of a Roku TV takes a short break from playing a game on their Xbox, or streaming something on an Apple TV device connected to the TV set, Roku would use that break to show ads. Roku engineers have even explored ways to figure out what the consumer is doing with their TV-connected device in order to display relevant advertising.
Is it bad?
Depends on your taste ofc. It’s 80% (kinda jarring) fights and 20% stuff that happens, there is no character development for anyone whatsoever and you’re left wondering why they put some scenes in the first place.
I have the impression that Spirits Within is memed on a bit, but I prefer it over Advent Children 100%
The VA (english dub especially) is awful too especially compared to Remake/Rebirth. Tifa sounds like she is 13 but should be like 25?? In retrospect I did watch it like over a decade ago and didn’t mind it but I caught a clip of it a few years ago and was like “wow yeah this was actually pretty bad” lol. The CGI and whatnot still holds up though!!!
Yeah I saw with a couple friends last month and I was going back and forth between English and Japanese but both were so bad we stuck with English just because they tone down the animeness of it.
It is, and it’s mindblowing that the latest gen could just render that in real-time. Though I think the animation was a bit uncanny (not surprising since mocap has come a long way too)
This movie is straight up forgotten, although for that matter so is Advent Children. I don’t think it’s in canon with the FF7 universe anymore, it’s like those old Nokia mobile games.
Honestly it’s impressive how much Advent Children fails at delivering a paint-by-numbers “How Cloud Got His Groove Back” plot. It doesn’t even deliver a half baked Shounen “beat the bad guy” plot, because Cloud just fukken rocks all the bad guys he comes into contact with without any drama or stakes at all.
