Very true. And if you stop and think about it, 2033’s only 10 years away. Maybe Metro.co.uk could post a followup to this story then. Just for that “Yo dawg, I herd u like 2033” meme potential.

I wonder what the world will do if that happens again. UN peacekeepers to oversee elections?

Whatever form Russia takes next should not have a seat on the security council.

      2033, yes.

2034 felt disjointed to a point I wasn’t even sure it was written by the same person. Gave up reading eventually, about 1/3 in.

        I had the exact same experience. I love 2033, but I couldn’t finish 2034.

and the pretexts under which it [the invasion of Ukraine] was started look more and more insignificant and false.’

Really? In what way? More and more people are learning about the origins of the war all the time.

The origin of this war is that Putin wants to restore the Soviet Union and thought Ukraine is easy prey, because of revolutionary forces within Ukraine and because his collaborators lied to him. They then continued to invade with limited success, thanks to low morale, aged tactics and corruption in their badly equipped military. Now Russians die in the thousands not because of Ukraine, but because of him.

No point in feeding the troll. Look at his profile, it’s a either a Russian in denial or an extreme case of tankie.

pretty much everyone from lemmygrad and hexbear dismiss anything from any western outlet as propaganda while uncritically spouting insanity from the putin regime or the ccp.

i saw someone unironically posting about “democratic dictatorship” yesterday. good times

This is the stupidest comment I’ve read today, and I’ve been on reddit.

"Putin wants to restore the Soviet Union "

        Ha ha ha. Fucking hell.

Ah, sorry, ofc he’s just defending against all these western aggressors you hear so much about. You know, the ones who are now gearing up because of his aggression.

Anyway, please go ahead and die in the “special military operation”, if it’s so necessary from your point of view. I’m sure you’ll be missed.
