Honestly surprised Hawaii is so low. Maybe it’s because so many of the native Hawaiians and locals got pushed out.

Disclaimer I am not Hawaiian but yeah it looks like even if the descendants of immigrants from Asia have some Hawaiian blood they still identify as American. I did look at the demographic section of Wikipedia under Hawaii and saw that white and Asian identification was declining and PI/Native Hawaiian had climbed a percentage point each of the last two decades, so maybe something is happening positively. But there are a whole host of other questions you can ask about that. It looks like decolonization will be an arduous process for the real Hawaiians.

Either way, I hope to God the other island territories do not get caught in the trap that is statehood. They must go independent. Hawaii would be the best example for these territories that have statehood self determination movements of why statehood is a trap. Statehood is the opposite of decolonization.

A massive portion of that number comes from Eskimo and other indigenous tribes who want to be independent.

Nobody in Alaska cares about Russia.

In my experience the only people up here who would answer yes to a question like this are a-guy or frothingfash types who think that without the federal government they would magically become feudal barons with vast riches

Yep can’t forget about those types.

Also don’t forget about the oil barons who want to escape regulation and obliterate everything for every drop of oil they can extract.

I can believe the independence claim from the First Nations especially with the 150 years of Indian Residential fake school Holocaust that is a predecessor to the Nazi Holocaust with the mass violance, savage indoctrination, torture tools like electric chairs that they now used in Afghanistan, rampart rape of underaged children, mass murder of children, forced labor, child labor, chiuld abuses, crimes against humanity, unethical human experimentations, reduction of children’s name into experimental number, allowance wage thief, inheritance thief, and misuse of Native American fundings. The Western European diaspora condemn imagined atrocities by the Communists and the reign of terror by successful countries of color, but they disregard the evidences of racist holocaust by their own governments that had become well known since the Cold War.

They Western European diaspora believed in the lies by their Satanist (from the European Christian criteria) politicians like Stephen Harpers that the fake school holocaust against First Nation children were only “cultural genocide” that hides their hypocrisies, disorganized crimes by a few white adult slave drivers, and high quality “education” that has no relation with the savage indoctrination of the fake school survivors. Stephen Harpers in his fake Truth and Reconciliation even claim that some fake school survivors desire a return to the live in the Residential fake schools while hiding the fact that it is only because of the inability of the survivors to return to civilization after the savage upbringing in the fake schools as children. They also hide the fact that the European immigrant had promised high quality education, luxurious living conditions, and promise to make their children into elites of European immigrant society to gain the cooperation and funding from Indigenous parents for the enslavement and murder of their children. The Western European immigrants are now lying that reparation and the fruit of your labor are “free money” to you, that racial equity and freedom of relocation are “special privilege”, and that basic citizenship, basic human rights, and property ownership rights are “special status” in their effort to claim that everything that all European immigrants take for granted will spoiled Indigenous people.

With that much separatism America wouldn’t recover from a second civil war.

I had a hunch that the recent situation with Texas disobeying the federal government and involving the Texan national guard was very under reported for how bad the situation seems for America This kind of confirm my intuition.

I imagine a lot of US mythology feeds into this actually. People are brought up thinking that US is built on rugged individualism, and to mistrust any sort of a central government. So, it’s only natural that they will increasingly blame the federal government for their problems as they start falling on increasingly hard times.

I think there’s a lot of reflexive red/blue thinking involved. If your state’s red, your state laws are written by team red, but the national laws by red and blue, going back and forth every few years. Wouldn’t you want all red laws? If it’s just your state, that’s what you get, so you win! Blue followed the same thought process, of course. Swing states have relatively low numbers because they’d just trade purple for purple. The numbers not taking a huge dip in the states that would be enclaves if they went through with this indicates that team Yes didn’t think through the decision.

For sure, politics in US are becoming increasingly polarized and each party frames all the problems as being the fault of the policies the other party is pursuing.

In full honesty as well, in every possible way that would affect the average Taiwanese person, Taiwan is already independent.

Why would they want to “declare independence”? How would they impact the average person in any way at all?

The reason so many people in Taiwan Province want to maintain the status quo is because they get de facto independence while enjoying preferential treatment in China for both people and exports. It’s like the Australia-New Zealand relationship except non-reciprocol on Taiwan Province’s part.

That, and they don’t have to put their lives and livelihoods on the line dealing with a potential forceful reunification.

I can see Texas or California, but how in the seven hells would Nebraska secede from the USA? Even if there weren’t a war or a siege, how do they expect to survive by themselves?

I do not even know that there are many people that want independence in the Western European diaspora since I had need relying on Pax Americana news to know events, the Pax Americana always avoid topics of major internal conflicts in the countries of European and European diaspora.
