this was my how my polisci professor back in college talked about ‘human nature’
Regardless of how you chop down this stupid fucking argument they just repeat it. Makes me go mad.
When someone makes a bullshit idealist argument you respond with a bullshit idealist argument, because they can neither be proved or disproved anyway. Like tell them that communism is human nature because families existed before capitalism and families share their resources or some other nonsensical argument like that. Basically beat them with their own idealism until they have to resort to using materialism
I usually go with “people have been murdering forever, yet we don’t promote murder. Why do we promote and reward greed?”
Except in this case it’s actually a good point. Humans evolved as nomadic troop primates. The concept of owning land and accumulated wealth is alien to our biological nature, an artefact of social not evolutionary development.
I mean, let’s be fair, half the dorks here probably have some 1/3 written SciFi novel saved on their laptop about a future where communism works perfectly.
Not that I’m speaking from experience…
I have only about a single half-written chapter, chill ok
idk why people say the USSR didn’t work. It lasted for 74 years and was a world superpower for about the last 46 years of its life.
If the USSR is so great, why isn’t there a USSR 2?
for now… :stalin-shining:
Apparently the DDR was great tho, we are on the cusp of DDR5
