As with any slur it’s use and user are what make it (un)acceptable so I don’t take issue with it in progressive spaces, but I can understand why, with the internet’s pseudo-anonimity, ppl could be made uncomfortable by a stranger saying it. I don’t see what the harm in being cautious with language is in a feminist & pro-queer community. And I don’t like the inclination to struggle against changes in language…
I don’t need to tell you “X is a slur now?” is a very common reactionary impulse I think.
