Does anyone else not draft as much as you would on arena because of how expensive it is?

For a casual drafter that just wants to play around with the new set for maybe 1 or 2 drafts a week, the cost feels so ridiculous I just don’t play. I would love to draft MKM but I cant justify the cost to simply play a digital card game. With so many other ways to monetise the game via cosmetics now, it would be nice of WotC to ease up a little and make drafting more free-to-play friendly.

I actually stopped playing altogether because my favorite format is draft, and no one plays it physically in Brazil because it is extremely expensive.

I’m strictly free-to-play on Arena for a few reasons, which is to say yes, I draft less often than I would like to. Basically I play Standard to build up gold until I can afford to do a draft. Unfortunately I’m liking Standard less these days – probably because they expended the number of sets – so I’m not sure if my patience for that arrangement will last. Would be nice if they added Pauper or phantom drafts/sealed on a permanent basis, but I don’t know how likely that is.

The good news is that the booster price increase doesn’t seem to have affected the Arena economy. And I did just buy a Play booster box of MKM from my LGS, and the price hadn’t gone up as much as I’d anticipated.

Me and my friends got into Cube. We have 3, soon to be 5 cubes that we cycle through. Pauper, Peasant, Unpowered Legacy, soon to have a custom card, and legacy brawl cube. It’s great.

If you have a play group that likes to draft I would highly recommend building a cube. You can even proxy the whole thing using a basic color printer. ;)
