    Mods become out of date very quickly which means the hard part of most old mods is manually editing them to work, not installing.

    I’m not sure if it’s still the case but, Catapult (a launcher for CDDA) had a function to download external mods. You might be interested in that.

      Catapult (or any launcher for that matter) has no way to know if the mod downloaded is compatible with your version of the game so you’re decently likely to get something broken

        I agree, outside of few mods that have versions specific for each stable release, unless the mod is included in the official version for each experimental release (as the recently added Mind over Matter or Magiclysm, it’s likely to present issues.
