    I will say, I’m glad I’m secure enough to not ask for help from my parents. Cause like, there’s so much pain and suffering I would be willing to take before owing money to my family.

        And if they did consider it that way it should be ignored by the child. It is impossible for you to owe your parents shit, mfers literally created you. If they got a problem they can take it up with their selves

      I can’t imagine anything worse than asking my parents for anything. And its not cos of pride idgaf about that its cos i hate every atom that forms their being.

    My parents are decent people, and have offered to help me out with some money for a down payment. They offered $10k. I had to explain to them that $10k is more or less a rounding error on a 20% down payment on a $500k+ apartment and, while a kind gesture and obviously still quite a lot of money, wouldn’t really help me to buy a place.

    Good thing it’s just presupposed by this sort of media that anyone who doesn’t have a “normal” or stable family life is not evening in the running to own a home
