What’s up with the super old posts in the hot feed? They always show up near the top in strange clusters, too. I’ll be scrolling through, seeing posts from 5 min to an hour old, then suddenly 10 posts in a row from 2 years ago, then back to seeing all posts from 5 minutes ago. I know I can sort by top day or whatever, but it just seems like such a weird bug, wondering if anyone knows why it happens.

I feel like it’s been a known bug for too long. I appreciate that this is all open source and community made but this ought to be priority 1 if we want people to stick around.

It is quite a busy time for the Lemmy devs! Lemmy is still in the early days of development. In fact, we’re testing a Alpha product with the masses.

It is indeed a known bug, but the Lemmy devs (not the lemmy.world devs) are really busy trying to solve the problem. The given is, it is not a multi-million company that runs it. I suggest you to have a read at the Lemmy blog that they posted after the Reddit blackout to get a better idea of who’s behind it and what the plans are.

We’re in the early days of Lemmy and for the past view weeks, I see we (and of course other instances) are builing something really nice here, and it goes with ups and downs in terms of availability of the website and improvement of the algorithms.
