Do Alarms Turn Off Automatically After a Long Period of Time?
Here’s the story. I went to a vacation overseas but still would like to receive sms. So I left my old phone back home with my sim and setup an sms forwarding stuff that automatically sends all my received sms to my email. (using Tasker and AutoMail since I already use those).
Unfortunately, I forgot to turn off my weekday alarm. I was wondering if the alarm turns off after some time that it wasn’t dismissed (an hour? half a day? etc.) because I’m worried that my neighbor (we live in a condo) would go nuts if my phone is ringing 24/7 while I’m away.
Phone is on Android 10, LG G7 ThinQ, and the alarm app is Sleep As Android.
I have a midday alarm clock on my android tablet. I had set it when I was unemployed and needed a reminder every 1:30PM to take my medication.
Since getting a job, I haven’t been home at 1:30, and when I get home, the tablet is silent and says “missed alarm” on it.
So in short, yes…eventually. But I don’t know how long it blares for.

Mine does on multiple Android phones (Honor, Samsung, ). The alarm will turn off after a while and become a notification “Missed alarm” if the phone was on.
You can test it easily to check if it’s different for you: Set up an alarm without ringtone and vibration and just leave it alone for a while. That’s how I found out, because I just need one alarm when my phone is in sight.
Yup I got the google pixel 3 and then the 6. On both phones, it will turn off after 30 minutes. I sometimes will sleep through it.
My roomate left his phone on the charger while away for the weekend (obviously a mistake) and his alarm was going off for over 4 hours before I just jimmied the lock on his door to stop it.
I’m not sure if the alarm on Android ever stops without manually being stopped.
You could have telephoned the phone. The ringing stops the alarm. When you hang up - silence!
Yes, just this morning I slept through one on Android 14. I woke up much later with a notification something like “skipped alarm” or something like that

Fun tidbit? I have a Cubot King Kong Pro (yes, it’s called that) which has the old Nokia feature of actually turning the phone on if its off to sound a scheduled alarm. I left my Cubot in my locker at work and it wasn’t until I got back in a week or so later did my locker neighbour tell me about my locker, making funny sounds…I have “Fuck You Mr Garrison” as one of my alarm tones.

an incoming phone call will (usually?) turn the alarm off so you could try calling your phone a minute after the alarm goes off every day to help your neighbor.
