Now do the writings from the other 100 mass shooters this year… Oh yeah they are Trump loving America-First nut jobs and their writing mimics the conspiracy theories and racism of Republican leadership. Let’s see the writings of the Trump supporter who stabbed a six year old fifty times just like two weeks ago.

If they were as accessible and available as guns such that in the mind of many Americans they represent solutions to problems instead of the problem itself, no I would feel the same. They aren’t though and it’s not a smart analogy.

Yeah? You’ve seen the handwritten journals of right wing mass shooters?

Handwritten journals don’t get released, at least not outside the legal process. Social media posts get released, they’re public.

                Are you really this clueless?

Huh? We were talking about pipe bombs and zip guns, not journals. Are you really this clueless?

If you’re just going to be an ass, explain why we don’t see mass killings with pipe bombs or zip guns since they’re so much more accessible? Or are you really this clueless?

When there is a right wing manifesto for a shooting it is very quickly released to the public. That is why there is controversy around this because it appears to be blatantly partisan to block a manifesto simply for being from the “wrong” side.

Bingo. I agree, typically these shootings are done by more radical right wingers, but the one time it’s done by mentally ill leftist, there’s a blatant effort to keep it under wraps.

Edit: lol keep downvoting… I’m still right.

The majority of them aren’t specifically left or right. There’s been a few right ones in the last few years that are paraded in the news nonstop but nowhere near enough to call it “typical.” The silence around this one is far more telling than the actual statistics on motives. Now if you expand the definitions beyond random public massacres and include gang shootings to get to the desired “300th mass shooting this year” metric then the typical politics of the shooters swing wildly away from the right.

The bottom line is the perpetrators of the type of horrific events the average person thinks of when they hear “mass shooting” are going for media attention which triggers more. The media coverage is the final cause of these so nonstop coverage highlighting a right wing connection sets off other deranged people with similar thoughts. I don’t think any of them on either side should get the attention or publicity but selecting which ideologies to give 24/7 coverage is even worse than publicizing them all.

The literal point of this post is to point out there seems to be an actual conspiracy to sweep this case under the rug.

It’s very common for the far right to fabricate a story and then use that fabrication as “evidence of a conspiracy to hide the truth because nobody else is talking about this thing we made up!”

It’s a perfect positive feedback loop for the rubes out there.

Most manifestos are not publicly disclosed because it encourages followers. Most actual manifestos (this is more akin to a diary) are not written down in a notebook, they are digitally sent out to the public and promptly archived in 100 different libraries.

Google, Meta etc all have policies against publishing manifestos. It’s in their ToS, you can read it for yourself.
