“We see an extraordinary execution (in China). It’s called 9-9-6 culture - 9 am to 9 pm, six days a week. And you see that progress. We cannot have the ambition of being a 10-20 trillion dollar economy and still expect that life should be chill,”

yeah and everyone’s tired of it there and moving away from it. and what does he think Indian workers in the private sector do? they don’t get Saturdays off, they are always forced to work overtime, its why everyone in India wants a public sector job in the first place.

India’s terrible economic situation isn’t because people aren’t working hard enough but because there is no work in the first place (especially for college-educated people). China managed to build productive forces by forcing capitalists to do what the state wants whereas Indian state is controlled by capitalists directly.

the low productivity is a failure of capitalism, not workers.

I read about his business and its possibly the least productive shit imaginable. Typical rent seeking middleman.

Foreword: I believe that the Chinese model is superior to western “work/life” balance and that the extra “free” time given to employees is no longer sustainable as of today’s economy, unless it is used for a second job.

Given this, I don’t quite get the difference between “sacrificing for the country”, as Indian entrepreneurs are advocating for, and the Chinese model. Why do we Lemmings tend to blame India for being exploitative but praise China for being fair?

Only privileged tankies are praising China. Also fuck the Chinese 996 model. Give me “western” work/life balance anytime of the week. That exploitative shit is not sustainable for the economy and the country. Like nobody is having children in China, South Korea and Japan, because they don’t have the time and money to raise them.

Nobody is having children even in western Europe, because of the same reason (lack of time and money). But this is another thing and does not relate to economic sustainability. Having reduced working time with high salaries/benefits makes EU western industries much less competitive than Asian counterparts and those firms are doomed to close.

Because liberal ‘reforms’ resulted in actually increased standard of living in China for everyone while in India only top 10% benefited. There is a reason why China is near first world in Global Hunger Index while India is near the bottom.

I didn’t say neither India nor China is ‘fair’ or ‘exploitative’ in the first comment. The conditions are completely different. What are you talking about?

Today’s economies are richer than ever, it’s the most sustainable it has ever been.

How anyone can simp for 996 is ridiculous.

Also most of Lemmy does not like China, that’s only the tankies.

What greater achievement could I be reaching for then a chill work-life balance? I can think of no better goal.

Truly there is no better goal. If you only have one life, be somewhere and do something that will let you have some of it.

‘No big achievement can come with work-life balance’

Says another CEO who has put his needs before the needs of everyone else. This is the attitude of a slave-owner.

Oh yeah! All these capitalist scum pitching hustle culture to youngsters so that they can go from being very rich to being stinking rich.

Why exactly don’t we have a hall of shame to showcase parasites like these?

Just what exactly do these assholes think the point of life is. Also pretty rich to talk about work life balance when all of your national wealth is being siphoned off by a giant pulsating leech that is the “enlightened west”

To quote Michael Parenti India isn’t underdeveloped it’s overexploited

The point of their life is to collect all the wealth “they deserve” from plebes that will never rise to their level because, in their mind, these people don’t work hard enough

Makes sense, I mean, why should I enjoy any of my time while I’m alive? Seems pretty silly to waste my life doing things that make me happy and satisfied when I could be making some rando way richer…
