    i can sympathize with if you’re new to linux and you install firefox from the repo manager, that message can be scary

      which distro does that?

      in windows, if you have any group policy that has an effect on your settings, that message gets populated

        In my case all it does is setting DisableAppUpdate to true. So that firefox doesn’t update itself and instead the package manager does it.

        most any that you intsall firefox from the repos. it disables autoupdate which requires you install firefox from a downloaded file like an rpm, a deb, a snap, or a flatpak.
