Haii, I’ve taken time this pride month to do a funny little Victoria 3 challenge: form the Inca nation Tawantinsuyu and become a beacon of progressive democratic rule :3

Here are some explanation & screenshots of how my run through the Victorian century (1836 - 1936) went (Disclaimer: this was my first full game and my experience with Vic3 is low):

I started as Bolivia and chose to use the first ten years to build up a bit of an industry and befriend Peru before eventually becoming the Peru-Bolivian federation. Then I released Tawantinsuyu. I could have gone the other way and started as a small Bolivian puppet and formed Tawantinsuyu myself by breaking free and then going to war several times but I found releasing it as Peru-Bolivia was way easier than forming it myself. I now chose to continue as Tawantinsuyu and allowed Bolivia to be my overlord for some time so we’d share a market.

I eventually broke free from the chains and started to eat up Bolivia when it was in a civil war, I also got Ecuador and Peru in my market. That’s when my economy started going stonks and I finally could focus on reforms. I had presidential republic but with state religion and let’s just say the church was a pain in the ass. Somehow I managed to break the church’s dominance and liberalised under the Intelligentsia, Rural Folk and Industrialists using my rapid industrialisation to feed the Trade Unions. I wanted to move towards council republic with universal suffrage and cooperative or state ownership but that would have led to the rainbow flag getting replaced so I switched to a Parliamentary Republic and left Protectionism and Interventionism.

Anyways this is what I ended up with:

Overview

I overtook Brazil at one point gdp wise but they got into my market and their gdp rose sharply but eh

I was the best nation in South America by a mile education wise at one point, the others did catch up tho

My standard of living was #1 in the early 20th century but my focus shifted a bit more towards enacting laws and the other nations caught up

My population exploded and I got mass migration, stonks

They love me :3

Except for the wealthy capitalists

Proud seeing my nation’s name there together with the big boys :3

Politically we got a coalition between the farmers, workers and intellectuals

And here are the current laws, I would have liked to enact Multiculturalism but none of my parties cared because “I’m not discriminating any minorities” so I see this as a absolute win idk. Also colonization, well… That is still there from Bolivia where I just wanted to grab some land before Brazil or Argentina would and then I couldn’t get rid of it any more.

All important facilities for my fellow citizens have been maxed except for healthcare where I did not have the time to do the research in time.

Look we even got public transport :3

And this skyscraper in Lima

Funny little extra:

The Bourgeoisie, Liberals and Socialists formed a party together… Sooo god damn cursed xD

Oh and at one point the Confederate States of America tried to befriend me, that was… Weird.

Anyways thanks for reading! :D

There was a free demo last weekend.

I kinda like it (the base game at least). It is lot more chill than Hoi4 but also not as much about political plays like the EU games. In most cases it is: build up the economy, enact laws and maybe grow your country with a few geopolitical plays & wars (that are a lot easier than in Hoi)
